The Academic Services Office at West Virginia Wesleyan College is accepting applications for a Graduate Assistant position.


• To assist with First-Year Seminar Program.
• To assist with preregistration, registration, add/drop, and withdrawal processes.
• To assist students in selecting appropriate course offerings.
• To refer students to appropriate college support services, as needed.
• To make web/portal updates.
• To assist with coordination of assessment activities.
• To help organize important events, like registration and orientation.
• To help track the academic progress of selected students.
• To assist with the recording of student information and academic progress.
• To help process midterm grades and any needed follow-up.
• To ensure that students receive prompt and courteous service.
• To perform other responsibilities as assigned.

A bachelor’s degree, admission to a WVWC graduate program and a strong interest in academic work is required. The successful candidate must have strong speaking and listening skills and enjoy interacting with students.

This position is funded by a Title III Strengthening Institutions grant. In addition to the job-specific responsibilities of this position, the following responsibilities also apply:

• Assist with grant-funded programming
• Provide monthly reports detailing the time spent on grant activities
• Support grant objectives and initiatives, providing assistance when required

The selected applicant will receive a tuition waiver for the MBA or M.Ed. program contingent on acceptance into the program. Compensation will include room and board as well as a stipend. The position begins August 1, 2017 and is a 10 month, 20 hour/week position.
