West Virginia Wesleyan offers a wide array of intramural sports for all skill levels. Students can compete in co-ed volleyball, basketball, indoor soccer, flag football and many other sports throughout the academic year. The intramural program is mainly run by students and produces a fun, competitive environment.
Mission Statement
The Intramural Sports component strives to provide a variety of opportunities that contribute to and promote the six dimensions of wellness, physical, emotional, social, spiritual, intellectual, and environmental. We are dedicated to making Intramural Sports a part of campus life. Our goal is to continuously create and provide a competitive, safe, and enjoyable atmosphere that encourages civility, teamwork and leadership development, as well as, a lifelong pattern of positive recreational activity regardless of physical ability.
Learning Outcomes
- By participating in intramural sports, students will be able to develop beneficial lifelong skills not only as a team player, but as an individual players as well.
- At the completion of any intramural sports component, participants will have obtained the goals within the Mission Statement.
- Upon the completion of any intramural sports component, participants will be able to list and describe several important factors that intramural sports can provide.
