2010 Physics Internships at Wesleyan
 
Scott Roberts worked with Dr. Popson in our Materials Science Lab to find ways to improve the efficiency of solar cells. Funding was provided by the Ledford Fellowship program of the Appalachian College Association.

Andrew Knotts 
worked with Dr. DeLaney to study the Marcellus shale geological formation in West Virginia. Funding was provided by a NASA-WV Space Grant fellowship.

Robert Vollmerhausen worked in the Electro-Optics Lab to measure the energy structure of lithium. Robert said, "Our research may enable engineers to improve the lithium-ion batteries commonly found in laptop computers." We recently purchased the equipment to perform this research using funding from the NSF-EPSCOR program. Robert's research mentor was Dr. Wiest.
